SUMMARY
- The NFL has announced the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
- The list includes 15 modern-era players, three seniors, and one coach/contributor.
The history of NFL Hall of Fame dates back to September 7, 1963. The city of Canton has successfully housed the NFL Hall of Fame and the Canton community also raised a whopping amount of $400,000 to raise the building. Many players have made consistent efforts to get enshrined as it brings them a lot of prestige and a moment of glory.
This year NFL declared the finalists of NFL Hall of Fame, eventually trimming the list of 173 nominees to 15 candidates. There have been two noteworthy first-time ballot entries who will be setting their foot in Canton this year. Defensive Julius Pepper and Tight end Antonio Gates, not much huge of a hiatus lie between these two new entries and Ohio.
Pepper’s tenacity, production, and not many off-field issues make him an apt candidate for the NFL Hall of Fame. In the NFL all-time Slack list, he stands fifth. Antonio Gates too is expected to make it. He has claimed two 1000 yards this season. But Pepper’s chances are slightly better than Gates’ to be enshrined.
Finalists of NFL Hall of Fame 2024 revealed
A 49-member committee, largely made up of the media community, selects the enshrinees. While many selected names are seasoned already, a few names have shone brighter by making new entries to the list. 15 from the modern era, three seniors and one coach have been listed.
