Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for their much-awaited season opener against the Cleveland Browns. But the fans are expecting another pleasant surprise. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is making a speedy recovery and some fans are asking whether he will play in the next match or not.
Burrow suffered a calf strain last month while practicing, during a training session for the Bengals. He was seen grabbing his lower leg in agony before being removed from the field. It was later revealed to everyone that it was a non-contact injury.
As the NFL season is in full swing, Bengals fans are waiting for an update on Burrow’s recovery process. Fans are eager to know when can he join the team. Burrow has become a Bengals legend in the short span that he has represented the team.
Very soon after taking the LSU Tigers to the National Championship, he became a rock star for the Bengals and carried them through to the AFC championship game for the last 2 years consecutively.
Giving an update on Burrow’s injury during a press conference, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that he is happy with what he is looking at. While addressing the reporters, Taylor said that he is happy with Burrow’s progress and that is all he wants to say about that.

Speculations are rife about Joe Burrow’s injury recovery
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor hinted earlier this summer that the scenario could have been different had Burrow not suffered a calf strain on the second day of training camp. Taylor initially revealed that it would take several weeks for Burrow to recover. Taylor has not backed off that timeline in the 15 days since it happened.
Just this Sunday Brian Callahan, Bengals coordinator also gave a brief update about Burrow’s injury. In an interview given to Sports Illustrated, Callahan told the interviewer that everything appeared positive. Recovery is at a steady pace. He said,
“To my eyes, he looks like he is still progressing the way he’s supposed to. I don’t see him a lot doing things. I probably see him as much as you guys do,” Callahan says. He further adds, “I don’t go watch his rehab or anything like that, but I feel good about everything I’ve heard and seen so far.”
According to Callahan, Burrow is still able to throw to some degree. So he doesn’t think that part is going to be all that difficult for the quarterback. He’s in good shape, so he shouldn’t take too long to recover.
During their games and training sessions, the management and staff have their best poker face on. But everyone knows that when a team misses out on its assets and star players, the vibe of the room is tense.
Any team wants to put their best foot forward and go out on the field with the best line-up. In the coming few weeks Bengals fans could see Burrows don the orange shirt and step out on the field.
