WWE has been the leader in terms of professional wrestling promotions for decades. But, over the years, the company has also been involved in a number of controversies. One such incident was the tragic passing of veteran in-ring star Owen Hart, who died at just 34 years of age.
It’s been over two decades since he died, but Owen is still remembered by the industry, and an its example was seen during a recent interview of Jim Ross. The legendary figure mentioned the late pro wrestler in a podcast, as he claimed that he feels Hart might be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame very soon.
It happened during his recent appearance on the Grilling JR podcast, as he discussed a variety of topics throughout the conversation. In a big claim during the recent interview, Ross revealed that Vince McMahon’s exit from the Stamford-based promotion has increased the chances of Owen’s induction into HOF.
On the latest Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross was asked about Owen Hart possibly going into the WWE HOF now that Vince McMahon is out of WWE. He’d love to see it if Martha Hart approves. He believes those odds might have increased now with Vince out. pic.twitter.com/3vLn43FYEa

The legendary ring announcer said, “I’d say that the odds of Owen Hart being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame have increased immensely since Vince resigned his post.” It must be noted that the wrestler passed away tragically at the Over The Edge PPV on May 23, 1999, after falling from the 70-meter height.
Many feel that Vincent hasn’t given the late pro wrestling star the respect he deserved due to the way his life ended. But with Mr. McMahon no longer a part of the organization, Jim Ross feels that Owen Hart might soon get the honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
What started issues between Vince McMahon and The Hart Family?
Despite the tragic death of Owen at the WWE event, Vince McMahon decided to continue the 1999 Over The Edge PPV, and that’s probably what started issues between him and The Hart Family. The late pro wrestler’s family considered it disrespectful to the departed soul and the entire family, and the problems between the two sides just continued to increase.
In fact, Owen’s widow, Dr. Martha Hart, decided to cut all ties with the Stamford-based promotion and pro wrestling world. She believed that there was negligence involved and held the company and its owner, Mr. McMahon, responsible for Owen’s death.
To fight for justice for her husband, Martha filed a lawsuit against WWF, which was settled out of court, as she got $18 million from the organization. In fact, she also tried her best to put those responsible behind bars, but nothing such happened. This legal battle created a huge wall between the sides, and that’s probably why Owen Hart hasn’t yet been inducted into the HOF by the promotion.
Jim Ross also talked about Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame induction
It’s true that Jim’s interview has been getting a lot of limelight due to his comments about the Canadian-born star. But the veteran was the only superstar Ross mentioned in the interview, as he also talked about Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame induction in the podcast.
During the conversation, the announcer mentioned how Heyman truly deserves the recognition. In addition to this, he also talked about Paul’s initial years in the pro wrestling industry. The legend mentioned that people used to be jealous of The Wiseman because he was smarter than most of the people in the company.
Such comments by a great like Jim Ross show what kind of impact Paul Heyman has had on the industry. Moreover, Ross’ comments about Owen Hart hint that it’s possible that the late wrestler might soon get honored by the Triple H-led promotion with a Hall of Fame induction. It remains to be seen if Vince McMahon’s exit after Janel Grant’s lawsuit can really make it a real possibility in the near future or not.
