Ja Morant seems to be landing himself in trouble often nowadays. The Memphis Grizzlies guard has been involved in numerous controversies in the last few months and it has not done his reputation any favors. For some context, the young star was accused of punching a teenager after a basketball pick-up game. That was not all, Ja was also reported to have threatened a mall security guard.

If these weren’t enough, he flashed a gun on Instagram from a str*p club in Denver. This earned Ja a suspension from the NBA, and cost the player a huge amount of pay as well. He mentioned that he would be taking some time off to reflect on his actions but eventually made a return to the court. Ja featured in the playoffs for the Grizzlies, but his contribution was limited due to a hand injury.

Now in his offseason, Morant has managed to land himself in hot water yet again. He flashed a firearm on Instagram for the second time, immediately earning a second suspension in less than six months.
When will Ja Morant return?
The NBA has suspended Ja from all Grizzlies activities until further notice. This means that their verdict has not been announced yet. Recently, NBA commissioner Adam Silver spoke about Ja’s controversial situation. He said the league has already decided on what to do with the player. However, revealing it during the NBA Finals would not be fair, which is understandable considering the stakes at play.
Adam Silver says the NBA and Players Association has already decided on Ja Morant’s suspension, but said it would be unfair to announce it now during the NBA Finals.

Morant missed 8 games for the Grizzlies the first time around. But there is a huge chance that the punishment is harsher this time, considering it’s the second time he has committed the same mistake. Many have argued that Ja has not committed any wrongdoing, but the NBA argues that his conduct is “Detrimental to the league,” which was the reason for his suspensions.
Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, has been blamed often for his son’s actions. It isn’t any different now. A fan responded to Silver’s recent press conference, and tweeted, “FATHER YOUR CHILD YOU YES MAN.” This goes to show who fans rely on to bring Ja Morant back on track.

With that said Grizzlies fans have been hoping for his return to the court next season. He recently went off the grid, sparking major concerns among fans about his mental health. After all, he is the face of the Grizzlies franchise and Zach Kleiman will be aiming to build a championship-contending team around him.
