It’s been a while since Miles Bridges set foot on the NBA court, and that’s because of his antics off it as well. For those who don’t know, Bridges allegedly abused his then-wife, Mychelle Johnson, on multiple occasions in 2022. This left her with multiple bruises and wounds, including a fractured wrist and nose.

When Mychelle revealed this to the world in a now-deleted Instagram post, she did not mention Miles’ name. However, the Los Angeles Police arrested the NBA player shortly, and bail was set at $130,000. He pleaded no contest to the felonies at the time.
Mychelle has two kids with Bridges. She mentioned that she had allowed an individual to traumatize their kids and abuse their mother right in front of their eyes.

In April 2023, the NBA announced that Bridges will be suspended for a total of 30 games. Mychelle even reacted to this at the time but with only an emoji on Twitter. Now, Bridges could return to the league in the 2023-24 NBA season, and the Charlotte Hornets have reportedly offered him a contract.
Miles Bridges will remain suspended for the first 10 games of the 2023-24 NBA season
Bridges has only served 20 out of the 30-game suspension. The Hornets have made a qualifying offer of $7.9 million to Miles. For some context, a qualifying offer means that the Hornets have offered him a contract for one year. If Miles accepts it, this will become a regular contract. However, he can also choose to sign with another NBA team, but the Hornets will be able to match that particular team’s offer as well.

The Los Angeles Clippers drafted Miles as the 12th overall pick at the 2018 NBA Draft. The Clippers traded him to the Hornets right away on draft night. From then on, Miles has been in Charlotte but has failed to make a lasting impact. In 291 regular season games, he has averaged 3.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
Blessed to be back with the squad 🙏🏽 let’s make some noise!!

Bridges is set to make a comeback to the Hornets this year. The franchise is under new management right now, after NBA legend Michael Jordan sold his majority stake in the franchise. With that said, it would be interesting to see how Bridges fits into the new team, which consists of mainly youngsters.
