Over the years, Judgment Day has portrayed an excellent dark in-ring persona. Despite playing the heel faction, they have earned the love and pops of the fans. It is also quite obvious to note that the team has delivered multiple classics. With all these achievements in hand, is Judgment Day the most successful tag team in the history of WWE?
Recently, a picture has surfaced on the internet showing details of all the accolades that The Judgment Day members have won in their WWE careers. The lead is certainly taken by Rhea Ripley, who proudly owns the WWE SmackDown and RAW Women’s Championship, NXT Women’s Championship, NXT UK Women’s Championship, and Royal Rumble Winner in her run.
Finn Balor had a great pro wrestling run before making it to the main roster. After being a two-time NXT Champion, he went ahead to mark his name for the WWE Universal Championship, WWE Inter-Continental Championship, and the United States Championship among other achievements. He is followed by Damian Priest who has won MITB, InterContinental Championship, and NXT North American Championship in his career.
Lastly, Dominik Mysterio is the only star in the faction to have won a tag team championship on the main roster, along with his father – Rey Mysterio. Looking at the stats, it is very evident that The Judgment Day members did extremely well in their individual runs but didn’t succeed a lot as a tag team.
Dudley Boyz, in the glorious history of WWE, has a record-setting 10 title reigns. Thus, looking at the numbers, it would be correct to say that Dudley Boyz has the most successful tag team in the business. However, one cannot ignore the boost that Judgement Day has given to its members individually.
Is Judgment Day heading for a breakup?
It hasn’t been a long time since Judgment Day came into action. The faction was started by the R-rated superstar – Edge. However, before they could establish any big milestones, the faction members turned against their leader. Finn Balor became the new head of the stable and the faction has been on a dominating run ever since.
Judgment Day has seen people in the wrestling industry come and go, but the stable seemed to go strong until now. At WWE Money In The Bank 2023, Damian Priest won the MITB briefcase and, in turn, an opportunity to earn a title shot. This gave Priest an upper hand in the division.
However, this left Damian Priest and Finn Balor to have an on-screen brawl for the first time. The bond that seemed all strong until now became quite vulnerable. The members also hinted that the faction may soon split up. While it is still unclear when the rift will deepen, the day is bound to come in the near future.
All three faction members hold important positions in the division except Finn Balor, which puts his worth under question. Even the fans believe that Balor’s growth stopped after he became the leader of Judgment Day. We will have to wait and see what plans WWE has in store for Judgment Day.
