Draymond Green has a lot to think about after what happened during the Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns game last night. Following the incident, people have been criticizing his behavior as this isn’t the first time it has happened this season. What’s worse is, that Green could eventually put the Warriors’ season into jeopardy. They haven’t been performing well, which is also quite concerning.

Recently, a post went viral on social media claiming that the 4x NBA Champion is being suspended for what happened with Jusuf Nurkic. However, this is far from the truth as ButtCrack Sports, the uploader is notorious for spreading false news and memes. Luckily, Green will not be suspended for the rest of the season and the Warriors still have him in their lineup. Green was suspended for five games two weeks ago for choking out Rudy Gobert.
Draymond Green received a hefty $6,000 fine for smacking Jusuf Nurkic
Following the incident, the game came to a quick halt as the whistle was blown. After reviewing the smack directed at Nurkic, the referees reward Green with a Flagrant 2 foul call. This ultimately meant that he had to exit the court after 17 minutes. He recorded 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists during the game. According to Spotrac, Green has been slapped with a $6,000 fine and it will double over time if this continues.
Nurkic ended up responding to the incident claiming that Green needed help. He said, “What’s going on with him? I don’t know. Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me. At the same time, it ain’t nothing to do with basketball.” Obviously, Green has developed a reputation for being a dirty player. What happened against the Suns wasn’t necessarily as Nurkic was merely doing his job by defending Green during the inbound play.
Suns’ Frank Vogel called Draymond Green’s actions reckless and dangerous
Draymond Green’s behavior has turned a couple of heads around the league. Several individuals including television analysts and the Suns’ head coach have spoken against him. Frank Vogel claimed that Green’s actions were more or less irresponsible.
He said, “I didn’t see a replay of it but it just looked like a reckless, dangerous play. Sensitive to our guys getting hit on plays like that. So I didn’t like it. Refs did what they had to do and the league will do what they have to do.”
This is Green’s third ejection of the season in 15 appearances. On top of his unruly behavior, his stats haven’t provided much-needed help to the Warriors. With a record of 10 wins and 13 losses, at this pace, it’ll only be a matter of time before the Warriors get excluded from playoff contention.
