Draymond Green has been having quite the season so far dealing with suspensions and ejections. Over the years, he’s earned the reputation of being an extremely physical specimen. Which in most cases has worked against his favor. We’ve witnessed the 4x NBA Champion pull off a couple of dirty tricks to help his team. But for what it’s worth this season, Green is headed towards trouble and trouble only.
The Golden State Warriors recently took on the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center. After a strong start to the game, the Warriors slowed down during the second half which ultimately gave Phoenix the lead.
Devin Booker and Jusuf Nurkic helped the Suns regroup and conclude the game with a victory. But the Warriors lost Green during the third quarter after he swung at Nurkic while his team was in possession.
Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic on Warriors’ Draymond Green after ejection: “What’s going on with him? I don’t know. Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me. At the same time, it ain’t nothing to do with basketball.”

Nurkic responded to the foul play later on by saying, “What’s going on with him? I don’t know. Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me. At the same time, it ain’t nothing to do with basketball.”
Draymond Green was rewarded a flagrant 2 foul which meant that he was automatically ejected from the game. The Warriors had to work without a defensive specialist on the court for the rest of the game.
Draymond Green has been ejected thrice in 15 games this season
Draymond Green has already dealt with several foul plays so far this season. And considering what he had just done to Nurkic, the former defensive player of the year is bound to be slapped with a fine. For starters, Green has only appeared for 15 games this season as the Warriors are trying to revive themselves from a downfall. His first ejection came from a verbal confrontation involving Donovan Mitchell during a Cleveland Cavaliers game.
However, his second ejection was the worst of them all. Green is generally always hyped up and ready to pounce on his targets. Two weeks ago, he was ejected and suspended for five games after putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.
The fight sprawled out after Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels of the Minnesota Timberwolves got into a heated confrontation after a brief push-and-shove situation that happened moments before the fight.
The Warriors are already struggling to piece things together this season and Draymond Green’s behavior hasn’t been helpful. Dub Nation ranks 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 10 wins and 13 losses.
Green has only been averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. Not having Green on the court for the second half of the game last night was definitely a reason why the Warriors fell short of a victory against the Suns.
