Stipe Miocic is set to challenge Jon Jones for the UFC Heavyweight title at the main event of UFC 295. The match is highly anticipated and after Francis Ngannou’s exit from the promotion, this is a perfect opportunity for Miocic to claim the championship belt.
This won’t be easy as he is facing the reigning champion and one of the GOATs of the UFC. Jones defeated Ciryl Gane in his debut fight as a heavyweight to become the undisputed champion.
However, former champion Miocic is having a positive outlook for the fight as he shared his strategy in Michael Bisping’s Podcast.
“I’m not going to let him dictate what he wants to do,” said Miocic in the “Believe You Me” podcast with Anthony Smith and Michael Bisping. “I’m going to dictate what I want to do, I’m going to do what I want. The minute I let him stop doing what I want, I’ve lost the fight. But if I do what I want, my chances are a lot better of winning than losing.”
The two heavyweights will be facing each other for the Title at UFC 295 at the Madison Square Garden on Nov. 11.
Stipe Miocic brands himself as ‘basic b*tch’
When asked about the kind of challenges that Jon Jones would bring in, Stipe Miocic responded by saying that he would stick to the fundamentals. He further expressed that he knows how dangerous ‘Bones’ is and he is ready for everything that comes his way.
“I’m not like that. You could say I’m a basic b**ch – I’m more like a one-two, one-two kick. I’m simple. He’s very dangerous from everywhere. He does things you wouldn’t expect, so I need to prepare for everything.” – Miocic further added.
After returning to the fight game after a long time, Jones was all bulked up and weighed close to 265 pounds in his fight against Ciryl Gane. The kind of muscle that the heavyweight champion has put on can reflect on the punches that he is going to land on his opponent.

What’s equally important here is that Miocic stands on around 245-250 pounds too. He is going to be focusing on his grappling in the much anticipated fight.
Furthermore, Miocic is one of the best contenders to defeat Jon Jones because of his experience in the heavyweight division of the sport. Lastly, fans are dismissing him because of his age and rustiness but we will have to wait to see what the 41-year old has to offer inside the Octagon.
