WWE recently completed its merger with UFC, as TKO Group Holdings came into existence. While the deal was a great one for both parties, it wasn’t probably the best for the performers. After the merger a number of in-ring performers were fired by the company, and a prominent name among them was Shelton Benjamin.
The Gold Standard has been an iconic name in the pro wrestling industry, as he gave his entire life to the sport. For most part of his in-ring career, Benjamin wasn’t considered to be outspoken. But there was an incident when the released WWE star didn’t hold back on American rapper Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori.
This incident happened back in May 2023, after Kanye and his wife were spotted enjoying a weekend in Los Angeles. As West was seen wearing padding from his foot up to his knee, former WWE performer Matt Cardona, fka Zack Ryder, mocked him for the pads.

As Matt shared an Instagram post to mock the 400-million rich rapper, the WWE veteran took note of the same. Shelton wasn’t able to control his take to Kanye’s look and shared a sarcastic reply. He said, “He legit stole Noob Saibot’s fit!!”
The now-released WWE star’s response to the post clearly showed that he wasn’t really impressed by the American rapper for wearing the pads. That was probably the reason why he ended up sharing his disappointment through his social media.
Logan Paul felt ashamed to invite Kanye West to his podcast
While Shelton Benjamin taking a dig at Kanye West earlier this year for his look was an unforgettable incident, it wasn’t the first time the rapper was linked to a name from the industry. The rapper was once also involved in a controversy with YouTuber turned WWE star Logan Paul.
This entire incident was revealed by The Maverick himself, as he shared the story during an episode of his podcast, Impaulsive. The social media superstar disclosed that he feels ashamed that he once invited Kanye to his podcast.
The 28-year-old admitted it during Episode 360 of his podcast, when he and his co-hosts were talking about West. As Logan admitted his regret for inviting the rapper, his friend, Mike Majlak, said that Kanye “went too far,” to which Santino responded, “cause he likes Hitler?” and it was unexpected for all those watching.
While it might have been surprising, it was true, as the 46-year-old rapper admitted that by himself. This incident was one of the biggest controversies in Kanye’s career, and it was probably the reason the YouTuber felt the way he did. But now, both Paul and West are working well in their own fields and haven’t really talked about this controversy ever again.
