SUMMARY
- WWE did a fantastic job in France, as WWE Backlash turned out to be one of best international PLE's in history.
- After the show, Triple H shared the biggest highlight of the night and it's not related to Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes.
WWE gave fans everything they deserved during the Backlash PLE in France, as everything from the production to the in-ring performances was fabulous. While Triple H and his team played an important role in the success of the event, there’s no denying the fact that the audience of France also played a major part in it, as the company got crazy fan support throughout Saturday’s event.
The local crowd was way too loud, and it took the charm of the show to a level that not many expected it to be at. From fans singing themes to going bonkers for their favorite star’s entrance, the company got a great welcome in LDLC Arena. And the extent of the love they got was so high that even The Game acknowledged it in the post-event press conference.
But, when asked about the biggest highlight of the night, the CCO didn’t choose Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes. In fact, the veteran pro wrestling figure shared that he feels another WWE star’s entrance at Backlash was the highlight. He was talking about none other than Jey Uso, as Main Event Jey Uso received a legendary welcome on the May 4 show.

The 14-time World Champion stated this after he was asked to choose a moment from the event that was just a level above from others. Even though he initially claimed that everything was his favorite, Triple H later said, “If you force me to pick one moment, Jey Uso‘s entrance was like nothing I’ve ever seen before.”
Such a statement by the company’s Chief Content Officer itself reveals the kind of moment it was, as the audience was fully behind Uso throughout the entrance. This also makes it clear that the fan-favorite star is now one of the biggest babyfaces in the company, and it feels like a matter of time before WWE pulls the trigger on giving him a well-deserved title-reign.
Jey Uso wasn’t able to dethrone Damian Priest at WWE Backlash
Everything The Game said about Jey Uso’s entrance at the PLE was absolutely true, as the former member of The Bloodline received a lot of support from the fans in France. But despite the backing from the audience, Main Event Jey wasn’t able to dethrone Damian Priest at WWE Backlash.
Jey gave his all during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Damian and even had a number of close counts. But The Judgment Day made their presence felt on several occasions during the match, and it eventually resulted in a loss for the babyface as Priest defeated him after a hard-hitting one-on-one match.

After the victory, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh started attacking Jey Uso, but what happened after that was surprising, as Damian Priest stopped them and even pushed Balor. Even though they didn’t come to blows and ended the match standing tall together, fans are sure that this argument between them might be the beginning of the end of this faction.
Triple H talks about how Backlash PLE broke WWE records
While the night ended the way Jey Uso would have liked it to, Triple H and WWE made Backlash a historic PLE through their exceptional work. Moreover, the crowd also played a major role in it, as the PLE gave the Stamford-based promotion the largest gate of any arena show in the history of the organization.
During his interaction with the media, The Game talked about how Backlash broke records. He said, “We had the largest gate of any arena show in WWE history tonight. I think that is worth repeating. The largest gate in the history of WWE. That is saying something because we have been doing this for a long time “
Hunter revealed that 11,628 were in attendance for Saturday’s show and he’s proud of the gate. The in-ring performer shared how he enjoyed every bit of the show and also talked about the sound warning during the premium live event, which was a result of the epic crowd.

Amid the success WWE achieved in France, the CCO confirmed that it won’t be their last time in the country. Adding, more to it, Triple H also talked about a recent release by the company and stated that it’s all part of this industry. But what stood out from the conference were his comments about Jey Uso’s entrance, as it was truly one of the most memorable moments in recent memory.
