SUMMARY
- Draymond Green was suspended by the NBA after taking a swing at Jusuf Nurkic in a game vs the Suns.
- The Golden State Warriors star was suspended indefinitely and his career was in doubt.
Draymond Green has been making waves on social media in recent months. But it has been for all the wrong reasons. The 4x NBA champion’s antics on the court have been landing him in trouble frequently and it looks like fans have had enough. Many expressed their distaste toward the player after yet another NBA suspension.
For some context, Green took a swing at Jusuf Nurkic the last time the Golden State Warriors faced the Phoenix Suns. This didn’t go down too well with the NBA world, which demanded Green’s suspension right away as it was not his first offense. Just a few weeks before the incident, the Warriors star held Rudy Gobert in a chokehold in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was suspended for five games for that offense.

For the punch on Nurkic, Adam Silver and Co. suspended Draymond indefinitely, which certainly sparked huge doubts over his future. Recently, DG revealed that he even considered retirement during this period.
He said on Volume Sports (via ESPN), “I’m going to retire.’ And Adam said, ‘You’re making a very rash decision and I won’t let you do that. We had a long, great conversation — very helpful to me.”

“Very thankful to play in a league with a commissioner like Adam who’s more about helping you than hurting you; helping you than punishing you. He’s more about the players,” Green added.
It certainly looks like the suspensions and periods away from the court have gotten to Green, who often appears to be continuously eager to return. As he mentions, Silver appears to have convinced Green to continue playing, especially since he believed that it was a rash decision.
When will Draymond Green return to the court?
Just before he revealed his retirement plans, the NBA reported that Green was reinstated after a 12-game absence. The statement mentioned that the player attended counseling sessions and has met with Warriors and NBA representatives as well. The last time Green played was against the Suns that night when the Warriors lost the game.
The Warriors have been having quite a tough time in recent games, winning just 5 of their last 10 games. Green’s defense is surely missed, especially when Stephen Curry has been showing signs of slowing down as well.

Reports claim that it could take DG up to another week to get ready for his NBA comeback. It is still unknown whether he was training with the team while being suspended, but it could still take some time for him to physically get ready.
