Lambert, who is originally from Bunbury was reportedly hit by a truck while riding his bike in Belgium. Further investigations are in process, however, details of it have not been released yet. According to reports, he was training with his Canadian team, X-Speed United, in Belgium. The 25-year-old cyclist’s death has shattered the community.
Tributes pour in from the cycling fraternity for Connor Lambert
Jai Hindley, an Australian cyclist who currently sits third in the most prestigious cycling tournament Tour de France, was among the first to pour in their tributes.
“Yeah, we lost a really good guy yesterday,” Hindley said. “A rider from WA by the name of Connor Lambert. So, I just wanted to send out good vibes and thought to his family and WA cycling community.”

The admiration between the two cyclists was mutual. After Hindley won the fifth stage of this year’s famous tour a week ago, Lambert posted: “Couldn’t happen to a better, hard-working or genuine person and family.”
“We celebrated together some victories and supported his goals and passion for the bike,” MBO Cycling (Lambert’s former club) manager Olivier Onderbeke said. “We will remember him always as a warm and thankful kid. Our thoughts go out to the Lambert family and all his friends.”

“Connor Lambert, a true inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his passing has left an indelible mark on our hearts and the sporting community,” CEO of the South West Academy of Sport, Bunbury, Bernice Butlion said, according to 7News.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has also been involved in the situation. The authority said that consular assistance was being provided to the family of an Australian man who succumbed to death in Belgium.
