Cam Thomas has taken the NBA by storm in his third year. He has been flourishing in the league as a starter for the last 2 years and his stats speak for himself. According to StatMuse, Cam Thomas has averaged 30.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 12 games as a starter in his career. These stats are a huge deal for a youngster like Thomas and he is surely destined for greatness.
Not only that, Thomas’s stats compared to that of the great late Kobe Bryant are also immense. Kobe Bryant averaged 19.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 50 games in his 3rd season (StatMuse). He has overshone him in most of the departments and this clearly states that he can be one of the greatest in this sport. Although Cam is still very young, a lot of pressure will now be upon him to deliver game by game.

It remains to be seen how Cam performs this whole season as his start to the season would be just the one that he would have hoped for. It would be important to him to continue this and keep going and achieve some success for himself and his team.
Cam Thomas revealed that Kobe Bryant was his favorite player
Thomas is a big fan of the late Kobe Bryant and was not shy to admit it in the past. When Thomas matched LeBron James’ feat of being the youngest player to record consecutive 40 points in games he was not that impressed. He said, “I’m glad to have my name mentioned with that guy, even though I’m a Kobe guy.”
Asked Cam Thomas about him joining LeBron James as the two youngest players in NBA history to score 44 points in consecutive games:
“That’s great company… I’m a Kobe guy though, so if you said Kobe I would’ve been a little more excited.” pic.twitter.com/fIpe96D708

“So, if you said Kobe I would’ve been more excited,” Thomas joked. “No, I’m kidding, but it’s still great company. He’s about to break the all-time scoring record in two games or one game. So I’m just glad to have my name mentioned with him this young.”
Thomas achieved back-to-back games with forty or more points at the age of 21 and 92 days old, while James did so at the age of 21 and 47 days old according to theScore. Thomas was averaging 9.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists through 36 games of the previous season.
Despite being one of the team’s most underappreciated players, the Nets guard has come to light. He has displayed glimpses of brilliance, particularly when the Nets have been without their leaders. It remains to be seen how Cam will develop in the future but for now, he certainly looks the “real deal” according to the fans of the NBA.
