Tennis, over the past two decades, has seen a handful of players dominating the events. At present, Novak Djokovic has been maintaining a lead over his competitors. Carlos Alcaraz has been the only one who has been constantly posing a threat to Djokovic. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has been away from the tour due to an injury, and Andy Murray has been struggling to play with a metal hip.
There have been a few players who troubled Andy Murray, Djokovic, Nadal, and even Roger Federer. Willy Masur has named Nick Kyrgios as one of the probables who can take over the sport. The tennis coach and commentator said, “Federer has retired, Nadal is a little busted and Murray is playing with one hip, so the Big Four have been pretty much dismantled.” Kyrgios has also been affected by injury this season.
“It comes down to 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.” 💪

While Federer’s record has been broken, Djokovic has been making his records in the sport. Nadal is supposed to make a comeback at the Australian Open next season. But there have been no updates about Kyrgios returning to the tour. The Australian has played one match this season and is busy passing controversial opinions on X.
Nick Kyrgios waiting to improve his records on tour in 2024 season
Kyrgios was one of the first young players on tour to have beaten the big guns in the sport. The 28-year-old beat the big three on his first attempt. It took him six matches to get a win against Murray, but that was not the case against the big three. Kyrgios beat Federer in their first meeting in Madrid in 2015 and after that, the Swiss maestro did not let him win any matches.
The hot-headed Australian won his first two matches against Djokovic on the tour. But he lost the third match at Wimbledon in the final last year. Meanwhile, against Nadal, Kyrgios defeated him at Wimbledon in 2014, which was their first meeting on tour. The Spaniard went on to lose two more matches while winning six matches against Kyrgios.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist had mentioned that he still has the fire to play on the tour. But Kyrgios had talked about not playing the sport for long. He still wishes to win a grand slam before retirement. Australian tennis does miss his presence. Fans worldwide could not see his rocket shots on court this season. Kyrgios has a chance to make his grand slam wish come true once he returns to the sport in a few months.
