It is a known fact that Max Verstappen and Red Bull have dominated this year. However, Adrian Newey believes that it may not stop anytime soon. The Red Bull car this season achieved what every team wants. Not just with the championship and wins but also the perfection at which a car can be made. Thanks to the genius of Newey, the team has seen new heights in their fight to be the best.
However, Newey now believes Red Bull’s plans to evolve their car is what many are not prepared for. Prior to the COTA race, Newey took time to talk about the Mercedes car. The Mercedes team has done a good job of being consistent, if not the fastest, and stuck in the second position.
However, their car is not at the level to beat Red Bull. He said, “I don’t care what engine Mercedes have, the car is not at a level.”

“And the quality aerodynamically in terms of the ability to drive it hard and to get the maximum out of it like Max Verstappen is able to do.” And his predictions came true.
Although the car had a great pace and came a second close to Max Verstappen, it was disqualified for infringement. This threw Hamilton back down in the ranks. Although the Silver Arrows team has worked to get the car to challenge Red Bull, it has failed to get close.

Lewis Hamilton believed in the major upgrades that Mercedes brought in. However, after celebrating his podium, he was asked to give back his win and points due to an infringement. What was a great effort to catch up to Sergio Perez, left Hamilton far behind again.
Additionally, the Mercedes car failed to make the car faster under the regulations. However, the seven-time champion sees a silver line of hope in the recent developments.
Lewis Hamilton recently called upon Max Verstappen, confessing his plans to beat Verstappen. The driver sees his team challenging Red Bull in 2024 as he takes his 8th title.
He said, “I want to be fighting Max, I believe I’m one of the only drivers that can do so.” And as he continues to hope for a better season next year, he also mentioned seeing positive signs at Mercedes. The champion had a pace that brought him a second behind Max Verstappen.

Throughout the race, the Mercedes star was able to maintain his position. Previously, he also won a podium during the Sprint race while Max Verstappen came out as the victor to no one’s surprise. However, Adrian Newey’s remarks for Mercedes can help the team analyze the car closely.
