WWE veteran Adam Edge Copeland is now officially a member of All Elite Wrestling. Making all the rumors about his possible shift to AEW, the Rated R Superstar eventually made a debut at October 1’s WrestleDream pay-per-view. But, his wife
The Ultimate Opportunist’s appearance received a thunderous pop from the crowd. While the whole segment was epic, a particular moment that caught fans attention was the initial few seconds of his theme, as Adam’s wife played a big part in his grand debut.
In the start of Edge’s walkout song, there was a voice saying, ‘You think you know me’ and who it belonged to has now been revealed. As confirmed by Bleacher Report, the voice at the start of his AEW debut theme was that of his beloved wife, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.

This wasn’t the first time that voice was used before the song, as previously the voice used to be that of the 49-year-old pro wrestler himself. But as this time the voice was that of a female, people were wondering who it was. And the answer to this speculation has not been given.
Alongside Phoenix’s voice, another thing that has been talked about heavily after Adam’s signing with AEW is his theme song itself. The 6’5 tall star came out to his iconic ‘Metalingus,’ and fans were left surprised. Since then, pro wrestling lovers have been speculating about why WWE didn’t stop him from doing so.
Edge took advantage of WWE’s failure to get a trademark on his theme
People are asking why WWE let Edge use his theme, and the reason is that they don’t have the rights. It wasn’t that the company couldn’t have done that during the legend’s stint, but they just didn’t go that way.
The Triple H-led promotion doesn’t have ‘exclusive licensing rights’ to The Ultimate Opportunist’s ‘Metalingus’ theme. And the veteran took advantage of this thing. Moreover, Tony Khan, probably made the arrangements to accommodate the song in Edge’s debut.
Fightful: “One source with knowledge of the situation said that they believe if Edge wanted to use almost any Alter Bridge song, that they’d probably all work to make it happen. WWE does own the name ‘Edge’, and he’d not be able to use that any more.”

Not just the song, but WWE also don’t have rights to his nickname “the Rated R Superstar.” This was the reason why Taz referred to him with this nickname during his debut. Even though the 49-year-old used these two things, he didn’t have the licence to use his moniker ‘Edge.’
As the legend was banned from using his moniker, he was called “Adam Copeland” in AEW. Now that Edge has started a new journey, it remains to be seen how well he fares. Will he be able to replicate his past success in All Elite Wrestling? Only the future knows the answer to this question.
