Furthermore, it has been seen in the basketball world that such incredible players often come from supportive families who are proud of them. The same is the case for the Purdue Boilermakers Center. His mother, Julia Edey, and his father, Glen Edey are a constant source of inspiration and support for him. However, her parents didn’t come to the games as they thought it was just a recreational thing. At the age of 17, Zach’s mother tried to join the Ontario Provincial basketball team. Unfortunately, she couldn’t grasp the semi-pro space nor knew how to get correct information. Furthermore, she ended up being a mechanical engineer and is now retired. Julia currently makes merch for her son, gardening, beekeeping, and much more.

He is currently the assistant coach for a baseball youth league, helping budding athletes sharpen their skills and put their best foot forward. In addition to this, being a supportive and loving family man, Glen helps his wife with her gardening and beekeeping activities.
Julia Edey tells a great story of the first time Zach was asked to sign an autograph at Mackey before he was even on the team.

Furthermore, Glen and Julia also have another son, Doug Edey. He is walking in the footsteps of his elder brother as he attended the same high school, Leaside High School, and also plays basketball. It is incredible how Zach‘s parents have built a loving and supportive home where both of their children are thriving. Everyone is not only following the young athlete’s journey but also of his family.
