Although Trae Young is only listed at 6’1 and was reportedly around 5’11 during his high school days, there was no denying the talent he had entering college. Young started his college career in 2017 and declared for the NBA Draft after his first year with Oklahoma. This speaks to his confidence in his own abilities and the growth he displayed during his time in college.

Trae’s college debut was against the Omaha Mavericks. In that game, he scored 15 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Those numbers were quite low when compared to what Young was averaging back in high school. Within a few weeks, Trae scored 43 points and 7 assists in a victory against the Oregon Ducks.
This was the first game that put him on the map and even instantly earned Trae comparisons to Stephen Curry. After all, Curry’s shooting range and accuracy were considered second to none at that point in time.
