Well, it seems like Jerry Krause left quite the impression on NBA fans ever since last working in the league. This man was famous for piecing together arguably the greatest team ever, the 90s Chicago Bulls. The dynasty lasted for almost an entire decade before falling apart. And why did it fall apart? Fans believe it was Krause who started and ended it all. The entire world got to find out how Bulls fans truly feel about him.
The Bulls recently took on the Golden State Warriors. However, the Bulls’ Ring of Honour Ceremony also took place to remember the ones who achieved big while they were with the team. While the organization played a tribute video of the deceased NBA executive, fans erupted with loud boos. This staggered his widowed wife, Thelma, who was present at the United Center last night.
Why did they boo Jerry Krause? In Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance documentary series, Krause was seen as the antagonist for several reasons. The series also explained the tensions that grew between the players, head coach Phil Jackson, and general manager Krause. It was stated that he did not like the appreciation others received while he put the team together. Krause tried to sabotage the Bulls by severing his relationship with Jackson and later making questionable comments.
Steve Kerr expresses disgust after Jerry Krause gets disrespected
Steve Kerr, who currently coaches the Warriors previously played for the Bulls through their second three-peat between 1996 and 1998. Kerr was an important part of the group who provided offensive stability with his exceptional shooting abilities. The Warriors general expressed his disgust towards fans who disrespected Jerry Krause during the ceremony.
He said, “It’s absolutely shameful… we’re here to celebrate the team. Jerry did an amazing job building that team. Tonight and last night was all about the joy and the love that team shared with the city and I’m so disappointed in the fans. And I want to be specific because there were lots of fans I’m sure who did not boo. But those who booed, they should be ashamed.”

Even during the documentary series, several former associates including Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf mentioned that Jerry Krause was one of the nicest people to be around. However, his desire to be acknowledged and appreciated was what crippled his relationship with the Bulls players and the organization. Irrespective of the drama, Krause was still responsible for their success during the 90s.
