- LA's head coach was ejected for confronting a game officials over terrible calls.
Last night wasn’t entirely a great one for Ty Lue and the Los Angeles Clippers. While they closed out with a win against the Golden State Warriors, the game brought a lot of referee-related issues to notice. Coaches and players have grown frustrated with NBA referees lately. There have been multiple cases over the last couple of months which have proven the league has to re-evaluate their officials soon. The Warriors-Clippers game was just one instance.
The Clippers general was ejected during the fourth quarter of the game for reasons we will dive into in a bit. After the Clippers put the Warriors on crutches despite battling poor officiating, Lue had some words to say. When he came out of the locker room, he said, “Where the refs at now? Cheating ass that’s all they’ve been doing.”

He also added, “Where James [Williams] at the referee, I wanna kick him in the mouth.” The NBA player turned champion caliber coach seemed heated yet elated over his team’s win. Ty Lue went on to cheer his players as they walked into the tunnel. It is to be noted that the quotes above were improvised by the uploader on X.
Why did Ty Lue get ejected from the Warriors vs. Clippers game?
Every coach gets defensive if they feel that their players are not being given calls. This was the exact reason why Ty Lue ended up getting tossed before the end of the fourth quarter. Lue was upset that the officials weren’t giving the Clippers any calls despite being fouled multiple times by the Warriors. There were a few plays on which Mason Plumlee was blatantly fouled by Draymond Green. Yet, the officials chose to neglect them.

The night went on with the Warriors and Clippers continuously chirping at each other. Plumlee was fouled by Green when he attacked the basket. Within the next minute, Plumlee was fouled once again by Green, however, the officials failed to pick up on it. Mason ended up taking his frustrations out on a smaller Brandin Podziemski. He was issued a flagrant 1 and Lue was left displeased.
Ty Lue was restrained by his players from confronting referee James Williams
As expected, Ty Lue challenged one of the referees to rewatch the tape and re-evaluate their decision on the situation. While Lue showed his temper in all its glory, he was rewarded with a technical foul. This had him enraged and he went on to verbally confront the referee before being rewarded the second technical foul. Thus, ejecting him from the game.

On realizing he had just been ejected, Ty Lue charged at referee Jason Williams. James Harden had to hold Lue down as things could’ve gotten out of hand. However, the Clippers dominated the Warriors in the fourth scoring 44 points against 28. The scoreboard tallied at 125-130 in favor of the Clippers.
