Scoot Henderson was spotted at a college football game along with one of his NBA teammates, Anfernee Simons. The Portland Trail Blazers have been caught up in a lot of chaos and things haven’t been going smoothly. So to see the 2023 NBA Draft’s No.3 overall pick enjoying his time at a college football game is a bit of a relief. At least he’s trying to make the most of what time he has left on vacation before the 2023-24 season starts.

Henderson was spotted wearing Oregon Ducks colors. He stood as a strong representative of the State of Oregon. The Ducks were scheduled to take on the Colorado Buffaloes. The latter were coming off a solid 3-0 run against teams like TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State Rams. Oregon is also on the same level as Colorado. Between the two, Oregon has a better chance of winning.
Before this game, Colorado’s Deion Sanders had some words for people who were disrespecting him. Last season, the Buffaloes had a terrible run finishing the season with 1 win and 11 losses. He said, “I have smiled at people who have said the most terrible things about me and they think I don’t know,” on social media. Only time will tell how well the Buffaloes have transitioned this year. On the other hand, Oregon is also looking like a solid contender this year.
Scoot Henderson and Damian Lillard have no bad blood
Before Scoot Henderson was drafted by the Blazers, Damian Lillard requested the team to trade him in exchange for another veteran. Lillard wasn’t too happy about the team’s choice to recruit young players. Regardless, the Blazers went ahead and kept their draft picks from this year, including Henderson. For a while, it seemed as if Lillard had something against the rookie. But both parties squashed rumors of having bad blood.
First, Lillard opened up about the Blazers’ decision to keep Scoot Henderson. He said, “Me and Scoot, we’ve had a few conversations with him coming into the league. That wasn’t a dealbreaker for me at all. I respect his game. I think in that position, he was the best player available.” He continued, “I wasn’t offended at all because, at the end of the day, you’ve got to come in and you’ve got to play.”

Scoot also shared a few words regarding their relationship. He said, “I feel like our relationship is really cool. It’s really just mutual. I’ve seen him a couple of times and you know, it’s all love. Dame is that type of person, [who is] real at all times. I feel like any situation that happens, it’s not going to change our relationship. If I do need somebody, big bro, or whatever… I still hit him [up]. It’s never really like any bad vibes between us or the organization at all.”
Lillard and Henderson’s relationship is beyond basketball from what’s been told. However, the likelihood of them playing on the same team is rather slim. Dame is determined to leave Portland and join the Miami Heat. However, a trade is yet to take place and it may involve more than just the Heat, as per league sources.
