The No. 1 seed in the Western Conference faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers in a home stand at the Target Center on January 14, 2024. Although the team won by a whisker, it is now riding on a two-game winning streak. However, what made the game a sight to behold was the turn of events as the game approached the final minutes.
The big man of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rudy Gobert, became a laughing stock tonight for his free throws. During the second quarter of the face-off, the Wolves’ center wasted his two free throws. Furthermore, the player landed in a disastrous situation as he came short of both attempts. Not only did the opposition catch him air-balling his first attempt, but he was even less equipped on his second try.

As Gobert shot a pair of brutal misses, the Clippers made a big deal of pleasure and were found tittering. Especially Russell Westbrook was found enjoying the moment to the ‘T’. The Clippers point guard found the missed shots so amusing that he burst into laughter while fans were capturing a video of the incident.
However, as Gobert knocked down a pair of clutch foul shots, the tittering onlookers were stunned into silence. Not only did Gobert amass a win, 109-105, against the Wolves, but he did it vengefully. Furthermore, the double-double amassed by the center added to the achievements.
Rudy Gobert scored a double-double in the last two games
After a four-game road trip, the Wolves had the chance to relax a little in the two-game home stand at the Target Center. While the team registered a win in both matchups, Gobert’s scores make the wins even more worthwhile. While facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers on January 12, 2024, Gobert scored 24 points and 17 rebounds in his 28 minutes on the court.
Not only that, but the center also amassed 15 points and 18 rebounds against the Clippers on January 14, 2024. Just because the star player didn’t play against the Boston Celtics on January 10, 2024, a three-game double-double streak could not be established. This is because while playing against the Orlando Magic on January 9, 2024, the player finished the night with 21 points and 12 assists.
Rudy Gobert is averaging 13.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in the 38 games he has played till now. And these double-doubles just add to the already bright record of the team, as the league is approaching the mid-season mark.
