Tee Morant and his son, NBA player Ja Morant have been two very controversial figures in the league. On one side we have a middle-aged father who is extremely affectionate towards his son and would do anything to protect him. Tee is always representing Ja on the sidelines of NBA games. At times, he would clap back at hecklers in the arena ultimately causing a scene. While Morant Sr. has been acting out for all the right reasons, Ja hasn’t.

Ja Morant has been involved in a series of controversial situations that may ruin his NBA career. Recently, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard found himself involved in back-to-back gun-related controversies. While the NBA does a thorough investigation of the issue, Tee Morant has blown up on the internet for being featured next to former President Barack Obama in a painting.

According to the owner of the art piece, it is the blackest-ever painting in terms of race. The owner happens to be a barber as well. While Obama and Lil Wayne’s faces are identifiable, the others aren’t too obvious of who they might be. The names of faces featured in the painting were not mentioned and the second individual from the left might not even be Tee after all.
Tee Morant has always been Ja Morant’s biggest supporter
Throughout all the trials and tribulations Ja Morant has been put up against recently, his father stands strong beside him. Ja’s first gun controversy took place back in March and he was suspended for eight games. Tee Morant addressed the issue via Twitter and he made sure he had his son’s back through the process. However, even Morant Sr. didn’t feel what Ja did was justified.

He said, “I REFUSE TO MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR HIS ACTIONS BUT I DO KNOW IN THIS THING CALLED LIFE WE ALL WILL HAVE WAR WOUNDS AND BATTLE SCARS, BUT BEFORE YOU CRUCIFY THE NEXT MAN ASK YOURSELF HOW PERFECT AM I LIVING BECAUSE MY SON IS IN THE SPOTLIGHT SO EVERYTHING HE DOES IS MAGNIFIED.” Tee went on to explain just how much he loves his son and what he would do to protect him.
Tee Morant has always expressed his ever-growing love for his son. But Ja is currently treading on extremely thin ice. Following the second gun incident that took place a few weeks ago, the Grizzlies have suspended him from all activities until further notice. Nike postponed their upcoming release in collaboration with the athlete. Commissioner Adam Silver and the rest of the NBA’s authorities have yet to come up with a solution.
