However, Mikey Williams was released after paying a bond of $50,000. The athlete will be taken to court as soon as Thursday. Lieutenant Gavin Lanning claims that despite being charged with multiple counts of violation, Williams will only face one of them. According to ESPN, Mikey was charged under Chapter 9, Section 245 (a)(b) of the Californian Penal Code. Williams’ attorney released a statement that stated that the incident took place following an “altercation” at the athlete’s home.
The people involved in the issue were apparently “uninvited individuals” and Williams allegedly matched the description of the possible suspect. According to the police report, there were five individuals in a car that was being shot at. Luckily, there were no causalities recorded. The police also have not tagged Williams as the prime suspect, hence his mugshot will not be released until proven he’s a major threat to society.
