After a long a troublesome week, James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers have come together to handle things maturely. Now that the situation has some control, the Sixers need to act quick and make a move. Since the beginning of the trade request, James Harden made it very clear that he does not want to live his dreams with the Sixers. As unfortunate as it may seem, Philly has also been struggling to achieve a deep playoff run.
This does not make sense for the 10x All-Star either as he is also growing older. James is yet to win a championship so either the Sixers need to make calculated decisions or trade him to a better situation. The LA Clippers have been targeted by the Sixers to orchestrate the trade. Harden also stated that he is interested to play for the Clippers as well.
After going back and forth for several weeks, the 76ers were not able to finalize a trade with LA. Sixers General Manager Daryl Morey was not satisfied with the assets the Clippers had offered. LA can shift around one of their three veteran superstars. However, the Clippers have never had a healthy roster with all of three of them on the court. Philly recently revealed they either want a player that can help the team or assets that can be used to acquire that player.
James Harden is likely to remain with the Sixers throughout the preseason
Before the start of training camp in Colorado, James Harden did not appear during media day. Sources claimed that the former MVP wished to stay away from the team to make them realize that he wants to be traded regardless of the situation. But he eventually made up his mind to attend training camp. James decided that he wanted to isolate himself to make things uncomfortable and chose to arrive at training camp by himself. Based on what we’ve seen on the internet, James seems to be in good spirits.
The shooting guard has attended both training camp sessions held in Colorado so far. He seemed to be in good spirits and actively took part in team drills. James was also talking to everybody normally before leaving the facility. However, this may be because he does not want to disrupt the peace that exists among the players. And for monetary purposes as well since Ben Simmons, who faced a similar situation lost $20 million during his feud with Philly.
The Clippers are “going to great lengths” to make a James Harden trade happen, per @sam_amick (https://t.co/4nlA1vHnAO).
Los Angeles has offered pick swap rights to various teams in order to bolster their offer to the Sixers.

Morey stated that he will not make a trade unless he gets a package that matches James Harden’s value. Right now, the Sixers are interested in fifth year forward Terence Mann. They’ve asked for Mann along with multiple first-round picks. The Clippers can either comply or counter the Sixers’ request. For now. Harden will most likely participate alongside his Sixers teammates during preseason. Training camp will conclude on Friday.
