SUMMARY
- Anthony Davis is officially 0-10 against Domantas Sabonis since they first met in 2016.
- The Lakers superstar claims that the unfortunate record doesn't bother him as he focuses more on his team's success.
Anthony Davis has been one of the best stars in the league for over a decade. The Los Angeles Lakers heavily rely on his presence to tackle various obstacles on the floor. While he has excelled in his role, the Lakers have been struggling to secure victories. But they are doing a decent job in maintaining their position amongst the Play-In berths. While they have been winning more often, LA would have certainly been much higher in the standings if this was the case earlier this season.
Injuries have been a big issue for the Lakers to overcome. LeBron James has been dealing with an ankle injury. As a result, the Lakers have been extremely careful not to over-exert James before the playoffs. Now, they rank ninth in the Western Conference with a 36-31 record. They do have a decent lead ahead of the teams below them. The final games during the regular season will be crucial to achieve a playoff run.
Anthony Davis goes 0-10 against Domantas Sabonis following their recent game
There is an interesting statistic that AD fans have not been too happy about. Since they first played against each other, Domantas Sabonis has always won. Right now, Anthony Davis has gone 0-10 against the Sacramento Kings player. Both players have been part of different franchises over the years, but Davis can never seem to get his hand raised in any of his games against Sabonis. Before a recent Kings vs. Lakers game, Davis claimed the stat didn’t bother him as much.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I’m all about the team. I want to get a win obviously, just because of the fact that we are two games behind them [Kings], or three? Just to be able to close that gap. So the 1-on-1 thing, it doesn’t bother me,” he said. The Kings were able to topple the Lakers to achieve a 4-0 record in the regular season series. Sabonis topped it off with an impressive 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists triple-double.
Anthony Davis has produced better numbers against Domantas Sabonis
When it comes down to individual statistics, Anthony Davis has always been far better than Domantas Sabonis. While people troll the Lakers center for his 0-10 record against the Sabonis, Davis ultimately has the last laugh in numbers. In 10 games, Davis has averaged 23.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2 blocks, and one steal. Offensively, Sabonis has rarely been able to succeed Davis.

The Kings center has averaged 13.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He has also managed to put up 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks against Davis. Sabonis has only had three better games than Davis in terms of scoring. Even in their most recent matchup, Davis scored 22 points and 10 rebounds. This proves that Sabonis’ teams have had more success over Davis rather than him being the better player.
