He received his first technical foul for challenging referee Ray Acosta on a call he made against Steph Curry. The point guard was called for a foul while defending Paolo Banchero on a drive to the rim. After receiving his first tech, Green wasn’t happy about it. A group of Warriors members and Curry had to hold Green back from crossing the line. Even after Acosta walked away, Green kept jawing at the referee resulting in a second tech.

After Draymond Green got ejected from the game, Curry had an outburst of emotion on the Warriors’ bench. He took his frustrations out on a chair and a clip of the reaction went rival on social media. This triggered a lot of talk amongst fans who believe Curry doesn’t like Green’s approach in such a situation. He addressed the incident during a locker room interview.
He said, “All I’ll say is we need him. He knows that. We all know that. So whatever it takes for him to be on the floor and available, that’s what’s gotta happen. Especially at this point of the year. It’s a tough way to start the game but I am extremely proud of every single person that stepped foot on the floor tonight.” Curry ended up leading the Warriors to a victory finishing with 17 points and 10 assists.
Steve Kerr gives props to the Warriors bench in Draymond Green’s absence
Steve Kerr was brutally honest regarding the ejection that came early in the first half. Obviously, Draymond Green tends to get very passionate about the game and never backs down from a challenge. Perhaps he went too far with the official this time. Kerr said, “Too bad, it was unfortunate. He deserved it. He’ll bounce back.” Green had received his fourth ejection of the season.

He went on to appreciate his bench players saying, “I’m just proud of the guys for stepping up. Moses came off the bench and had a big game for us. You know, Gary was fantastic. We had guys step up and that’s what it takes.” Moody and Payton II contributed big numbers from the bench. Moses had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists shooting 4-9 from the field. Payton II shot 5-5 from the field.
