The Memphis Grizzlies bad boy, Dillon Brooks was in the face of LeBron James all night long in game 2. It was yet another entertaining night in the 2023 NBA playoffs, as the Lakers and Grizzlies squared off at the FedEx Forum. With the Grizzlies losing the first game they tied things last night before heading off to Los Angeles. However, things are starting to get entertaining with Brooks talking trash to LeBron James.
LeBron James had a game-high 28-point performance, leading the Lakers. However, his efforts were not enough as the Grizzlies made it 1-1 in the series. The Grizzlies made it 103-93 to take the win and enough for Brooks to start talking trash to the 4x league MVP. After the game Brooks had some words for his confrontation with James, “I don’t care, He’s old,” Brooks said, “I poke bears. I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40,” Brooks continued.
“I don’t care. He’s old. … I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40.”

However, things change, and we’ve seen Brooks becoming enemies with his idol Draymond Green. This time it looks like he is doing the same thing with LeBron. Let’s take a look at what Brooks said about James 11 years ago. Fast forward to 2023, Brooks is not shying away from knocking LeBron James in the playoffs.
Dillon Brooks celebrates against LeBron James after Game 2 win
LeBron James won his first NBA title with the Miami Heat back in 2012 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. At that time Dillon Brooks wasn’t in the NBA, however, he celebrated James’ first title on Twitter. “‘Its about dam time’ the champion Lebron James,” Brooks commented. Since joining the NBA in 2017, he has been a menace and has established himself as a prominent trash-talker. This post was brought back to light after last night’s confrontation.

One fan commented on it, “fanboy smh.” It has come back to haunt Brook, who at one point might have idolized James. Things have not gone well against Brooks when it comes to him meeting his idols. This time around, he is not holding back anything against James as he defended James the entire night. Brooks ended the game with 12 points, whereas James ended the game with 28 points. It is fair to say that there is no controlling Brooks when it comes to in-game antics.
