The NBA has a set of rules and regulations to be followed during games. Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns who were starting to gain fire and were on an 11-game winning streak were up against the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young returned from injury to drop 43 points and end the Sun’s winning streak.
Devin Booker put up 32 points and Paul put up 12 assists. However, this wasn’t sufficient enough to put the brakes on Trae Young. During the match, Paul was seen doing something that was filled with nothing but irony
Chris Paul makes fun of Trae Young’s flop
During the matchup, both teams were playing attacking basketball. The Suns were looking to continue their winning streak while Trae and the Hawks were looking to go back to winning ways. During one play, Trae looked to have tripped over Chris Paul’s feet and it seemed like he was about to fall. CP3 decided to make fun of the young point guard.
The moment gained a lot of popularity online considering CP3 has been regarded as the King of Flopping. Seeing him call someone out for the exact thing that has been the driving force of most of his games was nothing but ironic.

Birth of the CP3 Flop Memes
The Clippers, Patrick Beverly in particular played a huge role in helping a set of memes mocking the CP3 flop incident gain a lot of popularity. It all started when Beverly was seen mocking Chris Paul on the court.
Patrick Beverley was given a flagrant 1 foul for the contact he made on Chris Paul's jumpshot.

This gave rise to a set of memes that gave a ton of comic relief to an intense conference final between the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns.

The memes did not end here. NBA Twitter decided to have fun when Paul George had CP3 on skates right before he drained a three-pointer.

While Chris Paul has been trolled for flopping and even being warned by the NBA, he is undoubtedly one of the best point guards.
