NBA fans are making their feelings clear after having heard of the ongoing contract negotiations between Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics. As we all know, Brown is the second star on the Celtics alongside Jayson Tatum and has been instrumental in the success that the franchise has seen in recent times. Having two elite wings and defenders has played a huge role in the deep postseason runs that the Boston Celtics have put up in the past few years.
Many NBA analysts and critics once opined that the two stars should be separated since they are both ball-dominant. However, multiple runs to the Eastern Conference Finals and an appearance in the 2022 NBA Finals seem to challenge those notions.
This NBA offseason has been quite an active one for many teams. Several players have been traded or offered new contracts by their respective teams. Brown is expected to be given an impressive supermax contract due to his innate potential and high-level play over the past few years.
However, many fans don’t feel that he deserves that kind of money after his most recent performance in the NBA Playoffs. With that being said, let us take a closer look at the situation and find out more.
Jaylen Brown has been involved in trade talks as well
The Boston Celtics have been falling short of winning a coveted NBA championship several times in recent history. Analysts have claimed that it would be better for the franchise to hand over the keys to the team to one of the two stars and let go of the other. As a result, Jaylen Brown has been involved in a lot of trade rumors.
Nonetheless, it appears that the Celtics want to keep both of their relatively young stars on the roster. Recent reports have emerged indicating that Boston could offer Brown a maximum contract worth $295 million. He would also be eligible to earn another additional $8 million if he made an all-NBA team. That would make his contract the largest in the entire NBA.
A Jaylen Brown supermax with the Boston Celtics would give him the richest contract in NBA HISTORY 🤯

Some Celtics fans might not be in favor of this decision. In their most recent playoff run, the Celtics were defeated by the 8th-seed Miami Heat. Additionally, many fans claimed that Brown’s erratic play and frequent turnovers were reasons for their failure. Therefore, this was pointed out by some who found out about this potential contract, “Bro can’t even dribble with his left hand.”

All this just to turn the ball over every time he dribbles with his left

Perhaps it isn’t wise to judge JB based on one bad playoff series. However, there is no denying that the Celtics will be committing to a lot if they go through with this contract. We look forward to seeing how they handle his contract negotiations in the near future.
