A potential NBA draft prospect named Brandon Miller has been put under the microscope for his recent actions. To those who do not know, the Alabama Crimson Tide star was linked to the Darius Miles capital murder case. This was a crime that involved a fatal shootout killing a woman named Jamea Jonae Harris.
According to the information received, Brandon Miller played a role in Darius Miles’ obtaining of a firearm, the very same used in the shootout. This can clearly be considered a blemish on the young athlete’s name. Some people are certainly allowed to be suspicious if Brandon had any involvement, especially since he was teammates with Darius.
However, Miller’s attorney has now sent out a statement in an attempt to prove his client’s innocence and ignorance of the deeds committed. Fans must certainly want to know what the lawyer is saying and understand the legal context.
Brandon Miller’s attorney claims that his client never even touched the gun
Perhaps all of the scrutinies that Brandon is undergoing are somewhat unjustified. After all, he has been very cooperative with the investigation conducted by legal authorities. Additionally, he even surrendered his phone in order for his activities to be tracked.
This would mean that Miller is more of a cooperative witness as opposed to a suspect in this murder. His attorney sent out a statement claiming that Brandon didn’t even directly handle the gun in the events leading up to the shooting.
“Brandon does not own a firearm and has never even handled a firearm. Moreover, he had no knowledge of any intent to use any weapon. Gunfire erupted shortly after the Jeep arrived and Brandon’s vehicle was struck by bullets fired from one of the guns. Brandon quickly left the area when gunfire erupted. As soon as he was notified that someone had been injured and the police wished to speak with him, he has fully cooperated with law enforcement’s investigation.”

The attorney went on to claim that Brandon never even touched the gun as it was covered in some form of clothing and kept on the passenger’s seat of his car. He simply went to pick up his friend, who was already in the middle of a heated exchange. Darius must have taken the gun and started shooting. Thus, all a scared Brandon could do was flee the scene and inform the authorities.
This is what the statement seems to be conveying. Thankfully, Brandon never handled the gun and is free from suspicion. However, he has faced all the persecution up to this point for simply knowing that there his friend had a gun in his car and went to him anyways.
