Ja Morant went viral for violating the NBA’s code of conduct a few weeks ago. Things have not been great for the young basketball star and if his behavior does not change, his career could be in jeopardy. The former Most Improved Player of the Year has a massive fan base which he has a lot of influence over and that is why the NBA authorities believe that his overall attitude has been reckless.
Interestingly, a Boston Celtics fan showed off his controversial tattoo that featured Ja Morant holding a handgun. Right below the tattoo, the words “Issa parade in my city, yeah” were inked as well. These are lyrics written by one of Morant’s favorite rappers, NBA YoungBoy. The last time these words were associated with Morant was when his infant daughter sang these words on live television following a Memphis Grizzlies game.

Every time Morant gets caught up with these issues, there seems to be a recurring theme. NBA YoungBoy’s songs have always been featured in any sort of video that has gone viral. Several experts of the game have speculated that his choice of music influences his off-court antics. Regardless, there are a lot of changes that Morant needs to bring about before moving ahead in his career.
Will Ja Morant be suspended for the 2023-24 NBA season?
The NBA is still investigating the matter and the world nervously awaits a final decision from Commissioner Adam Silver. The Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant from off and on-court team-related activities. Morant joined his best friend Davonte Pack during an Instagram Live Stream when he flashed a gun for the second time in over a month.
The first gun-related incident took place back in March for which Ja was suspended for eight games. According to Adam Silver, the All-Star point guard understood the magnitude of his actions and how detrimental it was to the league. Morant even issued a public apology to his fans and the league for what had been done. He claimed that he was going to take the necessary steps to get his act right.
Following the second incident, Silver seemed shell-shocked. He claimed that he was blindsided as their initial conversation had Morant expressing his genuine remorse over the situation. In the past, Gilbert Arenas was released from the league because of owning firearms. Morant did release an apology statement and the recent update is that he has now unfollowed Davonte Pack on social media.
