Ja Morant has been involved in quite a few controversies in his NBA career. The Memphis Grizzlies drafted Ja at #2 at the 2019 NBA Draft, and it has been a rollercoaster ride ever since. The guard has been a hot topic around the NBA scene, mainly because of his off-the-court antics with his friend, Davonte Pack.
Not many know who Pack is, he has kept quite a low profile. Pack was a basketball player himself, but he could not fulfill his NBA dream. However, when Ja made it to the league, he made sure to make his friend’s day. Morant gave Pack his jersey from his first-ever 50-point game. That led to a smile on Pack’s face, who was elated to see his brother achieve greatness.
Davonte Pack and Ja Morant’s off-the-court controversies continue
For those who don’t know, Pack was involved in almost all of the issues that Ja has been at the center of as well. One of those instances was when Ja flashed a gun on Instagram Live while in a car. The person who filmed that was Pack. Even though he moved the phone away after noticing that Ja had a firearm in his hand, the world still pointed the finger at Pack.

This led to his second suspension. Adam Silver announced that his conduct was detrimental to the league’s image, and that he will be on the sidelines for 25 games. That’s not all that the drama Ja has been involved in. For some context, the NBA guard also allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old boy. Reports say that a pick-up basketball game went wrong in 2022, and this eventually led to an altercation between Ja and the teenager.

Joshua Halloway, now 18 years old, has alleged that Pack and Morant assaulted him together. As per reports, this has led Shelby County police to issue an arrest warrant for Pack. The County office has declined to provide any more details than this, which isn’t all that surprising considering it’s an ongoing case.
With that said, it looks like Pack could be arrested. He has maintained his silence throughout this, whereas Morant has filed a countersuit against the teenater. It would be interesting to see how this plays out for all the concerned parties in the coming weeks.
