The Philadelphia 76ers and Daryl Morey have finally gotten rid of James Harden. The deal included P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrušev, who were sent to the Clippers. But there’s yet another name that has come up in reports for possibly seeing his way out of the Sixers. This comes after the Sixers were forced to waive this player in order to create a place for the players acquired in the James Harden deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The name is of the recently acquired shooting guard Danny Green. Danny Green is without a team just over a month after re-joining the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency. Green joined the 76ers in the offseason and has already appeared in two of the team’s first three games. Green is in his 15th NBA season and has previously played for six different teams.

Those teams include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers. The Sixers had no choice but to waive Green. The 15-year veteran has had a terrible showing this season. He has appeared in two games with the Sixers so far. The three-time champion has averaged only nine minutes and half a point per game.
3X NBA champion Danny Green could still be worth it for other NBA teams
Green has appeared in 169 NBA playoff games and won three NBA championships. Danny has won a championship with three separate teams, including the Raptors, in a season in which he averaged 10.3 points on a career-high 45.5% shooting from outside the arc.
He subsequently signed as free agency with the Los Angeles Lakers, before spending two seasons in Philadelphia, Memphis, and Cleveland while he worked his way back from injury. Given his expertise and ability to understand the game, there are many NBA franchises that might employ Green better than the Sixers did.
Danny Green may be an excellent addition to the Boston Celtics. Green, 36, would not only provide the Celtics with better perimeter shooting than they already have, but he would also provide them with championship experience, something they now lack.
Green, who is 36 years old and has recently recovered from an ACL injury, is expected to be available on a one-year deal. While he has been a strong three-and-D role player at times, his potential to be a rotation component on a good team is now seriously questioned. His brief return last season showed that he could still shoot 43.2 percent from the line in 11 regular-season games.
