Everything changed for Tyler Herro in the 2020 NBA Bubble. He went from being a late lottery pick in the 2019 NBA draft to a bonafide second option in a split second. He and Duncan Robinson put on one of the best displays of shooting from a pair of guards ever seen in the NBA during the 2020 playoffs. Along with playoff Jimmy Butler, they were the reason the Miami Heat made their historic finals run against the Lakers.
Now Herro’s future with the Miami-based organization remains unclear. He was injured in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. The right-hand injury kept him out of participating in the rest of the playoffs and there is a sentiment among Heat fans that if Herro had remained healthy, the team would have had a much better shot at making a dent in the NBA finals against the Denver Nuggets.
With reports of Damian Lillard being hell-bent on joining the Miami Heat, one can only reasonably assume that Herro and even Robinson’s time in South Beach are up, but the question is will they be headed to Portland or split up and sent in different directions if a 3 team trade is reached?
The Brooklyn Nets have an interest in joining the 3-team trade to acquire Tyler Herro
The Brooklyn Nets had a very twisted and confusing season. They started off the season in dismay but after mounting a losing record, they gained some good traction and at one point boasted a 32-20 record. Then everything changed on February 6th as the trade deadline was a few days from hitting, Kyrie Irving who for a long time was upset with the Nets and the Nets with him, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
This produced a domino effect and before long Kevin Durant was also on his way out headed to the Phoenix Suns. However, what no one would have predicted is that one player in the Kevin Durant trade, that is Mikal Bridges who was thought of only as a defensive specialist would explode into stardom and don the title ‘Brooklyn Bridges’ and look to be the next cornerstone piece for the franchise.
The departure of the superstars for the Nets also allowed young athlete Cam Thomas to fully shine and put on a scoring clinic with four 40-point games.

The franchise that was thought of to be destitute after the leaving of Durant and Irving now actually had a decent young core along with solid roleplayers. The Nets have launched into the rebuild phase and one way they feel will bolster their roster is by adding a young and big-time shooting guard in Tyler Herro.
As of Saturday evening, the Nets are, at least, open to the idea of a trade that lands Herro in Brooklyn. They will be aiding Miami’s efforts to score Lillard and in the process adding their 2 guards of the future, provided they can keep him healthy.
