LeBron James who calls himself ‘The Kid from Akron’ has risen to great heights and ruled the NBA world. He has earned himself a permanent spot in the neverending G.O.A.T debate along with legendary Michael Jordan. The Bulls star’s arch-nemesis Isiah Thomas had a hot take on the debate and backed up James.
The feud between Jordan and Thomas is not unknown to their fans. At the early start of his career, Jordan had a taste of failure when Thomas and the Pistons defeated him. However, the tables turned around soon. His Airness not only defeated the Pistons but also allegedly got Thomas out of the dream team in 1992.
Therefore, Thomas picking James over Jordan was assumed to be a result of this rivalry more than anything else. During an appearance on Undisputed, Thomas boldly stated, “LeBron James is above any of these guys.” He continued to explain that all the other renowned stars including Jordan had knowledge given by reputed coaches.
However, James made a debut straight out of high school and so on, and did not have college-level coaches preparing him for the NBA. In Thomas’ words, “LeBron James just came in from high school and said boom seven straight finals.” It is undeniable that King James started from scratch and built an empire for himself.
Isiah Thomas would pick LeBron James if he was trying to build a team
Isiah Thomas who was inducted into the reputed Hall of Fame speaks highly of LeBron James. He never leaves a stone unturned when it comes to appreciating King James. In the podcast, Thomas gave James the ultimate comment as he said, “If I’m trying to build a team, I’m going to pick LeBron.” Interestingly, he even called the Lakers star ‘Einstein‘ of the NBA.
Notably, James is currently the oldest active player in the league and has established himself among the best players. Despite being near his 40s, James still radiates the energy and determination that he brought in his debut game. He has taken the Lakers to greater heights and continues to break records that remain unbroken for decades.
The best and most “complete” player I have seen in my lifetime is @KingJames on and off the floor. He passed the eye test and the numbers confirm what my eyes have seen in every statistical category. #Goat let it be known! pic.twitter.com/wb2iuLoQ4M
