Kai Jones, an ex-Hornets player in the NBA has been making headlines for unwanted topics. But on the contrary, his journey has been nothing but sort of a Roller-Coaster ride. He has been through it all, from rags to riches, and has now taken center stage in the league.
Jones was born on January 19, 2001, in Nassau, Bahamas. He spent most of his early years in the Bahamas, where he was raised. Kai apart from his NBA persona also seems to lead a very secretive life as he likes to keep things to himself, his ethnicity has not been revealed or mentioned anywhere yet. Kai moved to America when he was 11 years old and lived there for a while and he later went back to the Bahamas to pursue his dream of being a long jumper.
Kai was unsuccessful in that, though, and eventually went back to Florida where he started playing basketball for the high school team. With his high school squad, he experienced some significant success, and later, in his professional career.

Kai shot 41% from beyond the arc as a senior, while also averaging 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. He attended Orlando Christian Prep (Orlando, Florida) in his junior year. He guided his team to a 21-9 record and the Class 3A state championship. In June 2018, he participated in the 2018 NBA Global Camp in Treviso, Italy.
Where was Kai Jones before the NBA?
Before the NBA, Jones participated in a Basketball Without Borders Americas camp hosted by the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Nassau during the summer of 2017. In their hometown of Nassau that year, he exercised alongside and sought assistance from top high school prospect Deandre Ayton.
He was motivated to play basketball in the US and as a result, he registered as a senior in high school at Orlando Christian Prep in Orlando, Florida, for the 2017–18 academic year. He played on the same team as five-star prospects Nassir Little and C. J. Walker and contributed to the Class 3A state championship victory for the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).
