Jimmy Butler has improved to be one of the best players in the league. Drafted in 2011, Butler’s game has improved significantly in the past 4 seasons. Ever since he arrived in Miami, Jimmy’s true potential has shined all along. His work ethic is defined differently as well. Though all the hard work came from rough beginnings for Butler. As a kid, Butler wasn’t always around his parents. Butler’s father, Jimmy Butler Sr., left his mother and him when he was still a kid.
His mother, Londa Butler took care of her son on her own from then on. During his young teenage days, Butler was kicked out of his house. It wasn’t that teen Butler had done something wrong, instead his mother let him out because of his looks. At a young age, Jimmy was homeless. Butler then moved to find a home, as he was in search of a place to live every single day. With no one to support him fully, Butler turned to basketball.
Jimmy Butler found a new home during high school thanks to Michelle Lambert
Londa Butler’s harsh treatment of her son didn’t keep Jimmy away from basketball. He met his best friend in high school and Butler went on to live with his friend, Jordan Leslie. Jordan’s mother, Michelle Lambert, took Butler in, as the Leslie household was already looking after six other children.
Michelle played a huge role in Jimmy’s life moving forward. Though Jimmy still kept in contact with his biological mother. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2011, having Michelle by his side for the night.
Londa was a caretaker herself, as she continued the profession after leaving Butler. Jimmy’s sister, Delphina Butler was married around the time Butler was drafted. Jimmy had attended the wedding, seeing her mother on the occasion as well. Butler continues to keep in contact with his parents, though he has nothing but respect for Michelle who raised him like her own.
Londa Butler on the other hand still resides in Jimmy’s hometown, Tomball, Texas. She is still working as a nanny, as it’s the only thing that keeps her busy and occupied. Londa had the opportunity to work as a diet aide, though the workload didn’t suit her, which was the reason why she went back to being a nanny.
