The Miami Heat’s acquired asset has turned out to be impressive for the team. Caleb Martin has improved greatly ever since he joined the Miami Heat. From his high school days to now playing in the NBA, Caleb’s journey alongside his twin brother Cody Martin has been one of a kind. The twin brothers grew up in an extremely small town with a population of less than a thousand. Both brothers played for the same high school and had identical play styles.
Caleb was seen as the better player out of the twin brothers, with Cody right behind him. The Martin brothers shined in high school, though their college career did not have a great start. Following a poor freshman year, both brothers saw some improvement in the game, but to have themselves noticed by the scouts, they needed more playing time. Caleb and Cody decided to transfer schools, which was indeed the best decision for the twins. Later on, both brothers would play in the G-League for a year, after which they finally played in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets.
Are Cody and Caleb Martin fraternal twins?
Jenny Bennet gave birth to her firstborn, Raheem. Bennet was with her first child in her teenage years. A couple of years later, she gave birth to twins, Caleb and Cody. The identical twins with another one of their brothers, Raheem had a tough time growing up in the small town of Cooleemee in North Carolina. The family had faced a lot of racism on a daily basis. Things really took a turn when their basketball careers shined later on. Cody was picked 36th overall by the Charlotte Hornets. Whereas Caleb went undrafted, being the better player.
The twins played together for two seasons, as Caleb would then sign with the Heat. Both brothers were phenomenal together, though it was about time that they make their own paths going forward. Caleb turned out to be an exceptional asset for the Heat, as the 27-year-old helped the team past the Celtics in the East Finals. On the other hand, Cody is still with the Hornets, though he wasn’t available for the 2022-23 season due to an injury.
Both have shown their potential, as the twins are as good being on separate teams as they were playing alongside each other. Caleb will play his first NBA Finals this year with the Heat. He was also the runner-up for the Eastern Conference Finals MVP voting. It will be interesting to see whether Caleb will win a ring before his twin brother.
