Dagestani fighter Sharabutdin Magomedov is all set to make his highly anticipated debut in UFC. Magomedov is considered a huge prospect in the world of combat sports and his addition to UFC assures some great fights in the upcoming future. However, ahead of his debut, Sharabutdin is already on par with Jon Jones in one aspect.
Every fighter in the UFC is mandated to enter the USADA testing pool to make sure each contestant is not doping. Failure to abide by USADA’s laws or testing positive for banned substances has strict consequences. If a fighter tests positive for PEDs, USADA will suspend the fighter. Depending on the type of violation, how long the fighter stays out of the sport can vary.
As of 2023, UFC middleweight fighter Paulo Costa is the highest-tested fighter with 33 tests. Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been tested 21 times this year and tying with him is Magomedov. Despite not having a single fight in UFC, Shara Bullet has been tested more times than that of a UFC champion.
My man hasn’t even fought yet and got tested 21 times! 😭💀 https://t.co/z4R4EW2Cbl

Although it may seem odd to conduct 21 tests before Sharabutdin’s debut it might have something to do with his dominant performances and his physique. Regardless, several fans are surprised by the numbers and question if such excessive testing was necessary.
“My man hasn’t even fought yet and got tested 21 times,” tweeted one fan on X. Thankfully the highly touted prospect has fared negative on all the tests and is cleared for his fight. Many are excited to witness Magomedov in UFC and observe his career trajectory.
When will Sharabutdin Magomedov make his UFC debut ?
Middleweight prospect Sharabutdin Magomedov will soon make his UFC debut on a heavily stacked card. The highly touted Russian fighter will be going head-to-head against Bruno Silva at UFC 294 on October 21. Magomedov is an undefeated MMA fighter with an 11-0 record.
Despite being from Dagestan, the 29-year-old’s fighting style is not wrestling-heavy. Instead, Shara Bullet is more of a dominant striker and has won 10 of his 11 MMA fights via KO/TKO. Which is why Magomedov’s debut won’t be an easy one.
His opponent Bruno Silva boasts a record of 23 wins and 9 losses and is coming off a loss to Brendan Allen. Before that Silva had earned an impressive first-round knockout over Brad Tavares and was also awarded a performance of the night bonus.

Although Sharabutdin is a highly dominating fighter inside the octagon, he is somewhat of a loose cannon outside. The 29-year-old has been involved in a couple controversies one of which include him attacking a stranger for kissing their partner. Magomedov also attacked his opponent in a grappling match after feigning a tap.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the Russian fighter fares in Abu Dhabi. Do you think Sharabutdin will make a successful debut? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
