Recently, his older brother, Nick who is a basketball player himself took to his Instagram to share that he is cutting the season short due to some serious problems at home. This news has been making waves over the internet and has also drawn attention to Nick’s unsuccessful career in the NBA.
Nick Wiggins has played for three different college teams
Nick Wiggins who is four years older than the 1x NBA Championship winner, Andrew Wiggins played for four different teams during his college career. He attended Vincennes University as a freshman and averaged 16.6 points. After this, he went on to play for Wabash Valley for one season before joining Wichita State for the last two seasons of his college career.
After a somewhat impressive impact as a college athlete, Nick declared for the 2014 NBA Draft. While his brother got drafted as the first overall pick, he got sidelined and went undrafted. He didn’t lose his hopes to make his NBA dream come true and joined the Sacramento Kings for the NBA Summer League. However, he didn’t land a contract and went on to play for Tigers Tubingen in Germany.
Furthermore, Nick returned to the NBA as he joined the Development League (Now known as NBA G League) in 2015. He played for the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves during his time in the G League and saw his dream come true as he got a contract with the Timberwolves and joined his brother. Unfortunately, he was waived off after only four preseason games.

After his NBA dream turned into a nightmare, Nick Wiggins went on to play in different countries including, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Angertine. The most recent team that Andrew‘s older brother has played for is Pacific Caesar, based in Surabaya, Indonesia. Notably, Nick earned the Thailand Super League Champion in 2019 which is undeniably a great achievement.

In addition to his playing career, Nick has also got into the business side of the sport. He is the founder of ‘SlowGrind Athletics’ which focuses on skill development. This provides basketball training on 1 on 1 training basis, group training, Elite Camps, etc. While his NBA journey didn’t turn around the way he wanted to, Nike’s impact on the sport can’t be denied.
