Performance of the Night honors went with Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler as UFC president Dana White revealed to the media in the post-fight press conference following an epic conclusion to UFC 268. Needless to say, it was surprising to learn that Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington, despite a busy five rounds that involved Covington bouncing back after getting knocked down twice in the second round, in what was a five-round of war between both the fighters.
Kamaru Usman triumphed over Colby Covington in a five-round of extravaganza for fight fans around the world. In the process, he secured his 15th straight win inside the Octagon, just one win away from Anderson Silva’s legendary streak of 16 wins. Kamaru Usman has already elapsed Georges St-Pierre for most consecutive wins in the welterweight division, and with the win over Colby Covington, he has cemented his position as arguably one of the greatest fighters of all time.
Kamaru Usman reigns supreme as the undisputed champion of the welterweight division, and the current #1 pound-for-pound champion in the UFC. Needless to say, there’s every reason to believe that when the time comes, and he retires his gloves, he will go down as the undisputed GOAT of the UFC, something UFC president Dana White also seems to believe.
What’s next for Kamaru Usman?
It has almost come to a point that Kamaru Usman is beating his opponents in rematches. Usman has already fought Masvidal and Covington twice. It looks like should Leon Edwards get past Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269, he could be in for the title shot next. However, it’s worth reminding that Usman already holds a win over Leon Edwards, which came back during his early years in the UFC.

Vicente Luque is an exciting new challenge, who has shown great power, improved striking, and brilliant ground game. Luque is coming off back-to-back submission wins over Tyron Woodley and Michael Chiesa and has already called his shot at the title belt.
It goes without saying that Kamaru Usman has already achieved everything that there is to achieve in the UFC’s welterweight division, and whatever he accomplishes going forward will only further cement him as the undisputed GOAT of the UFC.
