Dana White has repeatedly mentioned that the main event of UFC 245 between Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington is one of the favorite fights. Ahead of the rematch at UFC 268 inside Madison Square Garden, White once again shared his excitement on the rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington after almost two years.
“This is the fight that I have been waiting for. I mean the first, it is one of the best fights I have ever seen.” White continues, “There’s no way this fight is not going to be incredible, and this is going to be the fight, it’s gonna finally give Usman the credit that he deserves. How about this, he is on a 14 fight win streak. He has never been taken down. He has never been taken on his back.”

There’s no denying Dana White here. Usman vs Covington from back at UFC 245 continues to be one of the greatest title fights in the history of the UFC. Both Covington and Usman put up a performance of a lifetime, in what was an absolute treat for fight fans around the world.
“Stylistically, this fight is incredible. The first fight was unbelievable, which tells you that the second fight should be too unless Usman has gone to the next level. I truly believe, by the time Usman is done, he would be considered the GOAT.”
Is Kamaru Usman the greatest welterweight of all time?
Kamaru Usman’s resume speaks for itself. Usman rose to stardom after he snapped Tyron Woodley’s welterweight championship to become the new king of the welterweight division. Since then, Kamaru Usman has grown leaps and bounds, that there are interests in a potential showdown with boxing great Canelo Alvarez.
With wins over the likes of Leon Edwards, Rafael dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Gilbert Burns, Jorge Masvidal, and Tyron Woodley among others, Kamaru Usman has already cemented his position as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. He currently reigns as the #1 pound for pound king in the UFC, and a win over Covington will extend his winning streak to 15 straight wins inside the UFC Octagon.
While Colby Covington is probably the toughest opponent in the division right now, if Usman gets his hand raised this weekend, there’s no denying his status as a GOAT in the sport.
