The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers are coming off an impressive against the Milwaukee Bucks, without the great LeBron James. Darvin Ham’s team will be looking to take down an Eastern Conference heavyweight tonight, who has been sensational so far this season.
The Timberwolves, with a record of 44-20, are the second seed in the East right now, just behind the defending champs Denver Nuggets. The Wolves have proven to be one of the best defensive sides in the league, which means the Lakers will have to be on their A-game tonight. That also means they will be eager to welcome LeBron back, who missed the last game with an ankle issue.
LeBron James is questionable for the Los Angeles Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves game
It is no secret that King James has been dealing with a serious ankle peroneal tendinopathy. The 4x NBA champ has been sidelined on multiple occasions this season for the same issue. He sat out the last game against the Bucks, and Ham said that James was experiencing ankle soreness.

Along with LeBron, Anthony Davis is also questionable with left shoulder soreness. In the post-game interview after last game, AD mentioned that he was struggling to move his shoulder and that it felt sore. His appearance tonight is also in question. Other Lakers players on the injury report are Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and Christian Wood.

Just like the Lakers, the Wolves have a star-studded injury report for tonight’s game as well. Karl-Anthony Towns, Jaylen Clark, and Monte Morris will miss the game, and Anthony Edwards is questionable as well. But the appearance of the young star can be a game-time decision and he could be predicted to play through the injury in such an important clash tonight.
Can the Lakers get the win despite their injuries?
The last time the Lakers faced the Wolves was in December 2023. Anthony Edwards led his team to a 106-108 win with a 31-point performance against LeBron and AD. The two Lakers stars put up 26 and 33 points respectively as well, which wasn’t enough ultimately.
The Lakers have some of their best players on the injury report tonight, which surely tilts the scale in the Wolves’ favor. But if LeBron plays tonight, that could be a huge boost for the team and he could be the difference between the two teams. Regardless, the Wolves’ tightly-knit defensive unit will be a problem for the 17x NBA champs, and that could mean that they walk away with an away win tonight.
