Terence McKinney took the entire world by storm last year after he delivered a brutal punch to knockout Matt Frevola in seven seconds to record the fastest debut victory in the UFC. The rising lightweight contender has continued his dominance inside the octagon once again as he finished Fares Ziam via rear-naked choke submission in the first round in the prelims of UFC Vegas 49.
Speaking about this bout, T-Wrecks wasted no time as he engaged in a scramble as soon as the fight started and got into a good position. Thereafter McKinney controlled Ziam for a while and took his back and he manoeuvred a rear naked choke to grab his second UFC victory.
Following his brilliant grappling display, former two division UFC champion Henry Cejudo alerted the entire lightweight division to keep a close eye on Terence McKinney as he believes that he is the real deal.
All you 155 pounders you guys watch for his kid! #Mckinney

Terence McKinney aims to fight for the lightweight title in 2023
With this exceptional submission victory over Fares Ziam at UFC Vegas 49, Terence McKinney could potentially end up earning his second performance bonus in the promotion. Consequntly, the swashbuckling rising star has set big goals for himself after getting his fifth straight victory by a KO/TKO or submission finish.
He revealed in his post fight interview that he aims to fight for the lightweight title in 2023. In the post fight press conference, one of the interviewers asked T-Wrecks whether he has an opponent on his mind that would help him get closer to a title shot.

To which McKinney responded by saying that he does not want to rush anything and is ready to fight anyone put forward in front of him. “Like I said whatever name they throw at me I’ll take. There’s no need to rush it. I’m just gonna enjoy the ride that god’s putting me on and just seize every moment of it and just let it sink all in.”
It is needless to say that Terence has a bright future in the company if he continues finishing his opponents like he did today at UFC Vegas 49.
