Steven Seagal is known for his prowess in the field of Aikido and is a black belt. The actor started his career as a martial arts instructor in Japan before making a name for himself in Hollywood. He has starred in several films, including Above the Law, Attack Force, Contract to Kill, and most recently, Beyond the Law. He has previously made his feelings known about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, something his daughter, WWE trainee Arissa LeBrock, does not resonate with.
Arissa LeBrock has gained popularity in the world of entertainment in the past. She has been a rising star and has also been a BJJ athlete. LeBrock seemingly does not agree with her father’s opinion, as she stated in an Instagram post that BJJ was the best thing to have happened to her after winning a tournament in 2018.

In the post, she also stated that her heart was “SO FULL” and that she was grateful for being given the opportunity to shine. The 29-year-old is the daughter of Steven Seagal and his third wife, Kelly LeBrock, who he married in 1987 before parting ways in 1996.
What did Steven Seagal say about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
During a previous interview, Seagal stated that he was not in favor of BJJ and stated that all fights end with people standing on the ground, which makes the basis of the martial arts form redundant. He also added that samurais knew that if they went to the ground, they were dead and that it was best to attack vulnerable body parts such as the head and neck instead of the legs.
The actor said, “When people say ‘all fights end up on the ground’ they are incorrect. 90 percent of the fights that I know end up standing up with one person going horizontal. They (the samurai) knew if they went to the ground, they were dead because they were on the battlefield.”
“We don’t want to dive down on the ground, and just as much time as those guys spend trying to dive in your legs and get you, we spend just as much time cutting your head off or knocking you out or ripping your eyes out or ripping your throat out or severing your brainstem when you go down there because your head and your neck will be vulnerable,” added Seagal.
Seagal started training in martial arts with a friendly Japanese neighbor and was deeply influenced by the man, ultimately leading him to take the decision to go to Japan. The 71-year-old is one of the most notable stars in Hollywood, especially in the action genre.
Arissa LeBrock had a tryout with WWE
After spending a considerable amount of time in the entertainment industry, it appears that Steven Seagal’s daughter Arissa LeBrock’s dreams lie in the squared circle of WWE. She has been trained by former WWE and current AEW star Dusty Rhodes and has been doing well, according to the veteran.

LeBrock had a tryout with WWE in 2019, but an unfortunate injury kept her on the sidelines. WWE has a reputation for nurturing the best talents in the world through its Performance Center in Orlando and its developmental brand, NXT. It remains to be seen what the future holds for LeBrock.
