As the Formula 1 2023 season comes to an end at the Abu Dhabi GP, Max Verstappen does the absolute unthinkable after having one of the most dominant seasons in the history of the sport. While it is no secret that Red Bull’s performance this season has by far been one of the most dominant ones of all time, it is the Dutchman who is now in his own league.
Until now, the champion has been seen soaring far ahead of all the drivers and winning races left and right, however, his records, from the ones that he has broken to the ones that he has made, have left everyone impressed as he achieved something that nobody has ever done before.
While there have been many legendary drivers in Formula One who have made their own records and held them for decades, Verstappen would be one of the only few to have broken as many in just one season. As of now, Max Verstappen has the highest percentage of wins in one season, most wins in the season, most points in a season, most podiums in a season, most consecutive wins, and most laps in a season.

This sets him apart from many as he also holds one of the highest percentages of laps led in the season. The three-time champion also has won 86.3% of the races in a single season with the most consecutive wins from pole position. Max Verstappen led the championship with 575 points while his teammate Sergio Perez stood right behind him with 285 points giving Verstappen the biggest points gap between first and second.
The driver also has the most consecutive races as champion leader after receiving his third Championship title in Qatar while also the most consecutive points scored in a season. Apart from his Singapore Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has managed to finish top 2 in every single race, making him the driver to have the most consecutive Top 2 finishes and the most hat-tricks in the season.
With Formula One hosting three American racers this season, Verstappen became the only driver to win three times in one single country while also having the most pitstops by the winning driver in one race.
Max Verstappen wins two awards after remarkable 2023 F1 season
While it is no secret that Max Verstappen has dominated this season with 19 race wins in a single season beating his own record of 15 race wins in 2022 and 21 podiums in a single season while also holding a P1 in the standings with 575 points and more than 1000 laps lead in a single season, the Dutchman is in his own league.
While many drivers wish to be in the same position of dominance and brilliance as the Dutchman, he has proven over and over again just why many can’t achieve what he has. After his incredible end to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the driver received an Award for having most fastest laps in a season, receiving his “Fastest Lap Award”.

The three-time champion received a huge Pirelli tire to which he replied, “How am I going to get this home?” Nonetheless, along with his humor and his hunger, the Dutchman’s brilliance has stayed intact throughout the season as he gave Red Bull one of the best ends to the season.
