Max Verstappen has been compared to some of the legendary names in the sport. Names like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Lewis Hamilton have been mentioned alongside him. Verstappen’s absolute supremacy was proven ever since his Abu Dhabi 2021 win which made him a World Champion.
The Dutchman’s domination after that has been one for the books so far. He has not only won two World Championship titles but also broken records of past drivers. Michael Schumacher, on the other hand, was the first ever German driver to become a seven-time World Champion. The only one to follow in his footsteps is Lewis Hamilton.
Schumacher has been considered to be the best driver in Formula 1 history. But this has not been the first time Schumacher and Verstappen have been mentioned together. Verstappen has broken multiple records in this season alone. He has won his team 13 consecutive wins this season.
While he hunts down Sebastian Vettel’s record of 9 consecutive wins, he has yet again equaled another record by Schumacher. Before his 2023 season domination, the two-time champion has won 15 of the total 22 races in 2022 becoming the first driver to have the most wins in one season.
The Red Bull driver has also been the first Dutch Champion in Formula 1 similar to Schumacher. His 2022 season also made him the driver with the most points in a season with 454 points beating Lewis Hamilton’s 413 points record.
Max Verstappen equals Michael Schumacher’s 19-year-long record
However, Max Verstappen has equaled yet another record set by Schumacher. He has become the second driver after Michael Schumacher to win 10 of the first 12 races of a season. This has spoken about Verstappen’s pace and skills at length.
Throughout his 2023 season, he hasn’t only won the races but also had the fastest lap during the race. Although Schumacher still holds his record of most wins at the Belgian Grand Prix with only Ayrton Senna reaching close to it.

Verstappen has only two more races until he beats Vettel’s record of 9 consecutive wins. He has a total of 45 wins in total throughout his career, inching closer to Schumacher’s total wins.
Not just that, the Red Bull driver has also been backed by Lewis Hamilton as he praised Max to be the one to break his 103-race win record. While Max Verstappen continues to drive at Red Bull and win races, people have predicted Verstappen is on his way to winning his third championship title.
The Dutchman first met Schumacher as a kid after which fans say the legend transferred his “magic” to the Red Bull driver. They have both won races no matter what position they started from on the grid.
Although Verstappen is far away from Schumacher’s 7 World Championship titles, he seems to be getting there one season at a time. The Red Bull team and their star driver have also been called the “unbeatable” team so far.
