Lewis Hamilton has a very close relationship with his parents. He never forgets to thank them for all they have done for him. Lewis was brought into the world on January 7, 1985, by Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier. Growing up, he always had the support of his parents. Lewis was a child of mixed race. His father, Anthony is black, while his mother, Carmen is white.
With the help of his father, Hamilton got into the world of remote-controlled car racing at the age of 6. He later got his first Go-kart at the age of 7. Up until 2010, Anthony Hamilton had served as Lewis Hamilton’s manager. In 2010, the 2 decided to part ways. After the split, Lewis said, “Dad will miss being here, but it was me who initiated the break.” “He’s got other things to focus on, and I don’t want my dad being my manager anymore.”

Anthony Hamilton said that Lewis was fed up with his dad telling him what to do and what not to do. Lewis wanted to be his own man and not listen to his dad. The split did damage the relationship a bit, but they have reconciled and their relationship is now better than ever. Hamilton now has made a number of achievements including winning the championship 7 times.
Where are Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier from?
Lewis Hamilton was born and brought up in Stevenage, Hertfordshire which is in England. Anthony Hamilton was born in Grenada but is now a British citizen. Carmen Larbalestier was born and bought up in England. Hamilton has a half-brother, Nicholas Hamilton. Lewis is an uncle to Nicholas Hamilton’s children.

Hamilton has announced that he is going to add his mother’s surname to his name. When asked about this, he said, “I’m really proud of my family’s name, Hamilton. None of you might know that my mum’s name is Larbalestier and I am just about to put that in my name. I don’t fully understand the idea that when people get married the woman loses their name. I really want my mum to continue on with the Hamilton name.”
Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier split up soon after Lewis’ birth.
Why did Lewis Hamilton’s parents split up?
Carmen and Anthony remain good friends and partners in parenthood. Although the couple split up, they both have made peace with and figured out how to adapt to their situation. When Carmen was asked about the split, she said, “Tony wanted to be somebody and he has achieved that. I wanted a quiet life and that put a barrier between us. I couldn’t see myself in that busy, hectic lifestyle.”
“But I didn’t stop him from making sure Lewis got what he wanted. Without his dad’s constant, constant work he would not have been able to continue.”, “Lewis was the best thing to come out of my marriage. [The split] didn’t damage Lewis.”

Both Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier decided that they wanted to live different lives which did not complement each other. Lewis lived with his mother until the age of 12. At 12 he moved in with his father and his wife. This allowed Anthony Hamilton to help Lewis with his career in racing. Thanks to this, Lewis was able to build his career and become the person he is now.
Who is Lewis Hamilton’s stepmother Linda Hamilton?
Two years before Hamilton moved in with his father, Anthony Hamilton had married Linda Hamilton. Lewis’ stepmother was also very supportive of Lewis’ career. Linda used to attend the race weekends while Lewis was go-karting. Linda filled the role of the caring mother who made sure that all the Hamiltons were fed and hydrated during the weekend.
Although Lewis’ biological mother, Carmen, was not there for most of the races, she never failed to show the support Lewis needed off the track. Hamilton’s two mothers have played a very important role in the driver’s life.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who have provided me with unconditional love, warmth and guidance my entire life. To all the mums out there doing their best raising your children, today is for you ❤️🙏🏾
